Official: Central bank can prohibit floating rate consumer loans

MOSCOW, Nov 10 (PRIME) -- The central bank is considering prohibiting the floating rate consumer loans, First Deputy Chairwoman Ksenia Yudayeva said Thursday on the sidelines of the Finopolis forum on Thursday.

"In general, the legal framework for the floating rate for the households that we are considering now envisages the likely absence of floating rate consumer loans," the official said.

Yudayeva said that floating rate mortgages will be allowed, but the range of changes in the rate will be severely restricted.
